The Big Climate Change Debate - How to play your part.
This page contains supporting information for the "The Big Climate Change Debate - How to play your part pack". The pack includes a set of activities including “top trumps” cards, role-play cards and climate change research opportunities to engage pupils in the climate change debate and the COP15 process. These can form the basis of full lessons or can be used as shorter activities in the context of other curriculum areas.
Activity 1:Human Graphs
Graph 3, This activity uses the students in the class to produce a scatter graph to compare factors on the information on the country cards. A spreadsheet with the data is available for download here for students to produce their own graphs using Excel or similar.
Carbon footprint. This is one element of the eco footprint which is calculated by converting the various green house gas emissions into tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent. Students can find out what makes up a carbon footprint here
